New Delhi, Jan 25: Even as the ongoing spat between the BJP and the Congress over Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s alleged remark that the BJP and the RSS were promoting saffron terror in the country, continues, the controversy still appears to be being far from over.
The Home Ministry has released a list of 10 accused persons involved in terror activities across the country and who were directly or indirectly associated with either the RSS and other Hindu outfits.
Home Secretary RK Singh has also confirmed the names of 10 persons related to the RSS and other Hindu outfits on the basis of substantial evidences against them.
Among those whose names have been made public by the National Investigation Agency, majority of them belong to Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh.
Sunil Joshi, who had been gunned down few years back in Dewas, had been an active RSS pracharak in Indore-Dewas region of Madhya Pradesh between 1990-2003. His name is involved in Samjhauta Express and Ajmer Sharif blasts.
Devendra Gupta, who had been an active RSS pracharak in Mhow and Dewas had been arrested recently in connection with his involvement in Ajmer blast.
Ramji Kalasangara is another RSS pracharak from Madhya Pradesh involved in Samjhauta Express and other blasts. He is presently absconding.
Accused in Samjhauta Express blast, Mecca Masjid blast and Dargah Sharif blast. He reportedly worked as RSS Pracharak in Uttarkashi and Sajapur from mid-1990 to 2006. He is presently absconding.
Accused in Samjhauta Express blast and Mecca Masjid blast. He reportedly worked as Nagar Karaywah and Zila Sharirik Pramukh of RSS in during 2001-02. He has been arrested.
Accused in Samjhauta Express blast, Mecca Masjid blast and Dargah Sharif blast.
He reportedly worked with Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra in Andaman and Nicobar and Dang (Gujarat) from mid-1990s to 2007.
Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra is a front organisation of RSS. He has been arrested.
The others named by the home department as "Hindu terrorists" were Rajendra Chaudhary alias Samundar (accused in Samjhauta blast), Mukesh Vasnani (RSS worker in Godhra in 2000; arrested for Ajmer blast), Chandrashekhar Leve (RSS pracharak in Shahjahanpur) and Kamal Chauhan.
