IT firm fire doused - 300 rescued from building

Bangalore, July 19, 2014:  The Bangalore fire brigade officials said that  fire was noticed on the third floor of the building.  At least  300 employees of Tally Solutions Private Limited had to be evacuated to safety after a major fire broke out at the IT firm, located on the premises of AMR Tech Park in Hongasandra on JULY 18 afternoon.

 

As soon as the fire alarm sounded, employees in the building were evacuated to safety. Around 20 fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire in about three hours.  “Around 30 of our men inhaled the smoke while fighting the fire and complained of breathlessness.

They were rushed to a nearby hospital and are out of danger. Short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire,” said a fire officer.

An officer from Bommanahalli police station said that a case was yet to be registered and the loss was being estimated. There were at least 300 employees in the building when the incident occurred.  Fortunately, no one was injured and no causalities were reported except for a few fire men.

The fire from the third floor spread to some parts of second floor which was controlled fortunately the fire personnel prevented further damage.
