Illegal citizens are harmful for our nation: Baba Ramdev

New Delhi, Aug 11, 2018 : Adding to the debate on illegal citizenship triggered after the release of National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft, Baba Ramdev on Saturday said that illegal citizens are harmful for the country.

Baba Ramdev said, "Even if a single illegal citizen stays in the country, it can be harmful to the nation, be it Rohingya, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis or even Americans." "The illegal citizens living in India are about 3 crore to 4 crore, which is more than the population in Kashmir. Plus, Rohingya Muslims have come to stay in the country, aggravating the problem," said Ramdev. He added that "10 more Kashmir" will be created if illegal citizenship is not put on hold. Nearly 40 lakh people were not recognised as citizens of India when the draft, which incorporated the names of 2.89 crore people out of 3.29 crore applicants, was released on July 30.
