New Delhi, January 26, 2025: India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day today, marking 76 years since the adoption of the Constitution. The occasion highlights the nation’s democratic ideals, rich history, and the unity that binds its diverse population.
The centerpiece of the celebrations is the grand Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path (formerly Rajpath) in New Delhi. The event features a vibrant display of India’s cultural heritage and achievements, with President Droupadi Murmu unfurling the national flag to mark the start of the celebrations.
A historic highlight of the parade is the participation of six marching contingents from the Indian Army, representing the Brigade of the Guards, Mahar Regiment, Jat Regiment, Garhwal Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, and the Corps of Signals. Their disciplined performances and impressive drills promise to captivate audiences.
Adding to the significance of the event, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is attending as the chief guest. Over the years, the Republic Day Parade has hosted many distinguished world leaders, including Queen Elizabeth II and dignitaries from Pakistan and the Soviet Union, reinforcing India’s diplomatic ties.
