New Delhi, January 18, 2025: India have revealed their 15-man squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy with Rohit Sharma set to lead the team at the marquee event. The tournament will be held in Pakistan and Dubai from February 19.

The selection meeting was held in Mumbai today and lasted over two hours before Rohit alongside chief selector Ajit Agarkar revealed the names during a media interaction.

India start their campaign on February 20 against Bangladesh in Dubai.

The tournament is returning for the first time since 2017 and will be held in Hybrid Model after India cited security concerns as the reason for their refusal to travel across the border.

India have been placed alongside Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh in Group B.

After facing Bangladesh, India will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in what is expected to be a blockbuster contest. They will then take on New Zealand to conclude their group campaign.

This will be Rohit’s fourth successive ICC tournament as India captain. His first global competition as the skipper was the 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup when the team reached the semifinal. The 37-year-old then led the team into the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup before they won the 2024 T20 World Cup. The veteran will now be vying for his second ever ICC title as captain.

India have played just three ODIs since the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup – all during the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka last year in July-August, which they lost 2-1. As part of their preparation for the Champions Trophy, the team will face England in a three-match ODI series starting February 6.

India’s Full Squad For Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Ravindra Jadeja.

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar confirmed that the BCCI is still waiting on Bumrah’s fitness so Harshit Rana will join the team for England ODIs. India are hopeful of getting Bumrah back in mid-February so his chances of being available for the Champions Trophy, at least in the second half, are still open.
