New Delhi, Feb 02, 2022: India on Wednesday registered 1,61,386 new Covid-19 cases, 3.4% lower than yesterday. The total caseload stands at 4,16,30,885. India’s active caseload declined by 1,21,456, the total stands at 16,21,603.
As many as 1,733 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 4,97,975. A total of 2,81,109 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 3,95,11,307 and the recovery rate now stands at 94.91%.
The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 51,887 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu with 16,096 cases, Maharashtra with 14,372 cases, Karnataka with 14,366 cases and Gujarat with 8,338 cases.
Around 65.1% of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone accounting for 32.15% of the new cases.
India has administered a total of 57,42,659 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,67,29,42,707.
A total of 17,42,793 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
On Tuesday, India had reported 1,67,059 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the country’s cumulative caseload to 4,14,69,499. India’s daily Covid-19 cases on Tuesday were 20.4 per cent lower than what was reported the previous day.
While 1,192 Covid-19 deaths were reported, taking the death toll to 4,96,242.
