India logs 12,885 new Covid-19 cases, 461 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi, Nov 04, 2021: India registered 12,885 new Covid-19 cases and 461 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours. The country’s daily caseload was 8.3 per cent higher than that reported on Wednesday. With the fresh cases, the country’s overall tally has mounted to 3,43,21,025, according to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare early Thursday.

 

Kerala, with 7,312 cases, continues to be among the top five states which registered the maximum Covid-19 cases. Other states which reported the maximum number of Covid-19 cases are Maharashtra with 1,193 cases, Tamil Nadu with 962 cases, West Bengal with 919 cases and Mizoram with 526 cases.

As many as 84.69 per cent of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 56.75 per cent of the new cases.
Meanwhile, as many as 461 people succumbed to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s toll to 4,59,652. The maximum number of casualties were reported in Kerala (362), followed by Maharashtra with 39 daily deaths.Besides, a total of 15,054 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 3,37,12,794 across the country. h this, India’s recovery rate now stands at 98.23 per cent.

Also, India’s active cases declined by 2,630 to 1,48,579 in the last 24 hours.
India has administered a total of 30,90,920 doses in the last 24 hours. As many as 1,07,63,14,440 doses have been administered across the country so far. The country has been able to vaccinate 78.3 per cent of its adult population with at least one dose, and at the same time, 35.7 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated.
