India logs 14,313 fresh Covid cases, Kerala remains worst-hit state

New Delhi, Oct 30, 2021: India has reported 14,313 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, a decline of 0.2 per cent from yesterday. Meanwhile, Kerala continues to be the worst-hit state with 7,722 fresh infections -- responsible for 53.95 per cent of the new cases.

India’s total tally has reached 3,42,60,470.

The country reported 549 fresh deaths, bringing the total reported death count to 4,57,740.

TOP DEVELOPMENTS

    * The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 7,722 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 1,338 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,039 cases, West Bengal with 982 cases and Mizoram with 692 cases.

    * Out of the new cases, 82.25 per cent are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 53.95 per cent.

    * Maximum casualties were reported in Kerala with 471 fresh fatalities, followed by Maharashtra with 36 daily deaths.

    * India’s recovery rate now stands at 98.19 per cent.

    * A total of 13,543 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 3,36,41,175 across the country.

    * India’s active caseload stands at 1,61,555. In the last 24 hours, active cases increase by 221.

    * India has administered a total of 56,91,175 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,05,43,13,977.

    * A total of 11,76,850 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
