New Delhi, Oct 21, 2021: India registered 18,454 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, 26.2 per cent higher than yesterday. With fresh cases, the country’s overall caseload has now mounted to 3,41,27,450, according to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare early on Thursday.
As many as 160 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours, increasing the total death count to 4,52,811.
India’s recovery rate now stands at 98.15 per cent.
Meanwhile, India reached the 100 crore Covid-19 vaccination milestone on Thursday. In a tweet, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated the country on achieving the feat, and said it was the result of the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.-Top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 11,150 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 1,825 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,170 cases, West Bengal with 867 cases and Mizoram with 741 cases.
-As many as 85.37 per cent of the new cases have been reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 60.42 per cent of the new cases.-Maximum casualties were reported in Kerala (82), followed by Maharashtra with 21 daily deaths.
-A total of 17,561 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 3,34,95,808 across the country.
-India’s active caseload stands at 1,78,831. In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 733.-India has administered a total of 48,08,665 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 99,85,38,075.
-A total of 12,47,506 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
