New Delhi, Jan 07, 2022: India reported 377 new cases of the Omicron variant of coronavirus, taking the overall tally to 3,007, according to the Union Health Ministry data on Friday.
According to the Health Ministry, at least 1,199 patients with Omicron have recovered.
Among the states, Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of Omicron cases at 876, followed by Delhi at 465, Karnataka at 333, Rajasthan 291, Kerala at 284, Gujarat at 204 and Tamil Nadu at 121.
A total of 27 states and Union Territories have reported cases of Omicron so far.
Meanwhile, India registered 1,17,100 new cases in the last 24 hours, 28.8 per cent higher than the previous day. This brings the total caseload to 3,52,26,386.
The last time India crossed the 1-lakh mark in daily cases was on June 6, 2021.
As many as 302 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the total reported death count to 4,83,178.
