New Delhi, Jul 19, 2021: India registered 38,164 fresh cases and 499 fatalities due to the infection in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said in its latest update.
According to the health ministry, India’s active caseload stood at 4,21,665 till 8 am on Monday. In the last 24 hours, active cases have declined by 995.
Top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 13,956 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 9,000 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 2,974 cases, Odisha with 2,215 cases and Tamil Nadu with 2,079 cases.
79.19 per cent of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 36.57 per cent of the new cases.
Maximum casualties due to Covid-19 were reported in Maharashtra (180), followed by Kerala with 81 daily deaths.
India’s recovery rate now stands at 97.32 per cent, the health ministry said.
A total of 38,660 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 3,03,08,456 across the country.
India has administered 13,63,123 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 40,64,81,493.
Around 14,63,593 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
