New Delhi, Jul 06, 2021: India on Tuesday reported 34,703 fresh Covid-19 cases, the lowest in 111 days. The country’s active cases have further declined to 4,64,357 with a recovery rate of 97.17%.
India has also recorded 553 deaths in the country in the last 24 hours.
The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 8,037 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 6,740 cases, Tamil Nadu with 3,715 cases, Karnataka with 2,848 cases and Odisha with 2,803 cases.
69.58% of the new Covid-19 cases have been reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 23.16% of the new cases.
Among the 553 deaths, maximum casualties have been reported in Maharashtra (106), followed by Kerala with 102 daily deaths.
With the imminent threat of the third Covid wave looming, the country has so far administered 35.75 crore vaccine doses under the nationwide vaccination drive.
India’s active caseload is the lowest in 101 days and now stands at 4.64 lakh. The active cases constitute 1.52% of India’s total cases.
So far, the country has recorded 2,97,52,294 recoveries across the country so far while 51,864 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
Daily recoveries from Covid-19 continue to outnumber the daily fresh cases in India for the 54th straight day. The weekly positivity rate also remains below 5% as is currently at 2.40%. Moreover, India’s testing capacity has also been ramped up and over 42.14 crore tests are being conducted every day.
