India records 45,000 fresh coronavirus cases, tally nears 90 lakh-mark

New Delhi, Nov 19, 2020:     India has recorded 45,576 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours while the death toll has also gone up by 585. India’s total number of coronavirus cases is now nearing the 90 lakh-mark.

 

With 45,576 new Covid-19 cases, India’s total cases have touched 89,58,484. With 585 new deaths the coronavirus death toll has reached 1,31,578.

Among the 89 lakh total coronavirus cases, the number of active cases is at 4,43,303 after a decrease of 3,502 in the last 24 hours. The total number of discharged cases are at 83,83,603 with 48,493 new discharges in last 24 hours.

ICMR has said a total of 12,85,08,389 samples have been tested for Covid-19 up to November 18. Of these, 10,28,203 samples were tested on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, coronavirus cases in Delhi have crossed 5 lakh after the national capital saw a third wave of infections and a major spike over the past weeks. On Wednesday, Delhi recorded 131 Covid-19 deaths, the highest single-day death count.

The number of fresh cases also went up by 7,846 in Delhi. A total of 7,943 people have died of coronavirus in Delhi so far.
