India records 535 new Covid cases, active cases dip to 6,168

New Delhi, May 25, 2023: According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 535 new cases of coronavirus. The number of active cases has decreased from 6,591 to 6,168. The death toll now stands at 5,31,854, with five new deaths reported, including three fatalities reconciled by Kerala. The data, updated at 8 am, reveals that the total Covid cases recorded in the country are 4.49 crore (4,49,88,426).

 

Currently, active cases account for only 0.01% of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at an impressive 98.80%, as reported on the health ministry website.

The number of individuals who have successfully recovered from the disease has risen to 4,44,50,404, and the case fatality rate is recorded at 1.18%. The ministry’s website also highlights that a total of 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered nationwide as part of the vaccination drive.
