India reports 45,892 fresh Covid-19 cases and 817 deaths, toll crosses 4.05 lakh

New Delhi, Jul 08, 2021: India on Thursday reported 45,892 fresh Covid-19 cases and 817 deaths over the past 24 hours. The country now has over 4.60 lakh active Covid-19 cases.

 

Over the past 24 hours, 44,291 recoveries were also recorded, said data released by the Health Ministry on Thursday.

With the latest spike, India’s total Covid-19 cases have reached 3,07,09,557 while the number of total recovered cases have reached 2,98,43,825.

India’s active Covid-19 cases now stand at 4,60,704 while the death toll is at 4,05,028.

With the threat of the third Covid wave looming, India has so far managed to administer 36,48,47,549 vaccine doses and 33,81,671 doses in past 24 hours.

India’s recovery rate has now further increased to 97.18% while the weekly positivity rate remains below 5% and is currently at 2.37%.

The daily positivity rate of Covid-19 cases are at 2.42% and has remained less than 3% for 17 consecutive days. Testing capacity has also substantially been ramped up and the country has conducted 42.52 crore tests so far.
