India’s response to Pakistan’s nuke threat - `Lalu bomb`

Mangalore Today News Network

Patna, Aug 25, 2015: Days after mimicking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has now tackled Pakistan’s ’nuclear’ threat at his wittiest best.

When reporters asked him about Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz’s threat to India that his country was a nuclear-armed one, the RJD chief said that if he is made the Prime Minister, Pakistan would have to deal with `the Lalu bomb`.

The leader further described the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a failure.

This is the government of businessmen and it cannot protect the nation, added Yadav.

On Sunday, the Pakistan government had decided to cancel the planned meeting of national security advisors with India, citing New Delhi’s refusal to allow an expanded agenda and a meeting with Kashmiri leaders.

The Indian External Affairs Ministry had immediately termed the decision “unfortunate” and tried to wash its hands of the controversy that led to the cancellation of the meeting by saying that it “did not set any preconditions”.

On Monday, Aziz, the prime minister’s advisor on foreign affairs and national security, said: “(Prime Minister Narendra) Modi’s India acts as if they are a regional superpower; we are a nuclear-armed country and we know how to defend ourselves.”
