Bengaluru, Nov 9 2017 : Indira Canteens, the subsidised eateries opened by the state government in the city, have served one crore meals more than two months after they were launched on August 16.
The canteens serve breakfast for Rs 5, lunch and dinner for Rs 10 and tea/coffee for Rs 1.50. BBMP executive engineer, J R Nandeesh, said the canteens had recorded a footfall of one crore from August 16 to November 1. "That explains the success of Indira canteens. We expect more people in the coming days," he told DH.
