It is Holi but what’s eating LK Advani?

New Delhi, March 17, 2014: Is it a sign of the dimming star of BJP patriarch LK Advani? The doyen of BJP, at whose house Holi was a usually boisterous affair, is celebrating the festival of colours under a grim shadow. Insiders, political bigwigs and the media were surprised to discover that this year, Advani has refused to play Holi with the public or have effusive celebrations. And in a highly uncharacteristic move, even the media has been barred from the leader’s residence for the festival.

 

When contacted, his people refused to comment on the issue, saying as the model code of conduct is in place, it was decided not to invite potential trouble by celebrating Holi is a public manner. The reason, however, has not found many takers.

Holi, usually would be an explosive celebration at Advani’s house. This year, there is a marked scale down of festivities.

This, added to the speculation that Advani is drowning in the Modi-wave, is not going to do much wonders to the whispers of infighting floating around the corridors of power.
