Srinagar, Dec 11, 2018 : Four policemen were killed in a militant attack in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday, officials said. The identity of the militants has not yet been established, NDTV reported.
Officials said that terrorists entered into a guard room in Zanipora where four police personnel were present. The deceased have been identified as Anees Ahmad, Hamidullah, Mehraj ud Din and Abdul Majeed.
The fourth policeman was rushed to a hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical, the officials said.
The terrorists also walked away with weapons of the policemen, they said, adding that all people from the minority community were safe.
The attack comes days after three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, which included two teens, were killed in an encounter at the Mujgund area. One Army man sustained injuries in the gun battle while three civilians were also injured in the 18-hour-long fight.
