Rythu Bharosa is a welfare scheme under which financial assistance will be provided to the farmers of the state. The list of eligible farmers will be prepared and financial assistance will be given to them as per the scheme.

The Jagan-led YSRCP government has decided to increase the amount of ’Rythu Bharosa’ scheme from Rs 12,500 to Rs 13,500 annually and implement it for five years instead of the promised four years.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy will launch his government flagship scheme on today in Nellore.

Under this flagship scheme, the amount will be deposited in three instalments. The first instalment, Rs 7,500, will be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries in May, while the second instalment, Rs 4000, will be reflected in the accounts of the beneficiaries in October. The final instalment, Rs 2,000, will be given to them in January.

The YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme will benefit 67,500 farmers.

The government has excluded top three-tiers of elected representatives from the scheme, making all MLAs and MPs (present and past) ineligible to avail it. The scheme does not apply to Zila and Mandal Parishads and village sarpanches also.

There are about 1.37 lakh farmers who are eligible for this scheme but are unfortunately no more. The YSRCP government has decided to extend the benefits of the scheme to the wives or the kin of such farmers.
