Bangalore, July 21: Karnataka High Court on Thursday gave a go-ahead to Lokayukta to probe land scam and lifted stay on probe

yeddyurappaagainst Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa. Yeddyurappa is accused of denotifying land, allotting them to family

members.

"Truth has a nasty habit of repeatedly popping its head at inconvenient times. It is a double whammy for the BJP and for

Karnataka government, with the Lokayukta report on illegal mining on one side and the High Court order on the other,"

party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.

He said now the nation has to wait as to "which flimsy or hypothetical excuse" was trotted out by BJP to prevent

resignation and prevent a CBI enquiry.

In a major setback to Yeddyurappa, the Karnataka High Court on Thursday upheld Governor HR Bhardwaj’s sanction to

prosecute him and his family members on five private complaints over alleged land scams, holding that it was within the

"precincts of law".

In a 200-page order, Justice K N Keshavanarayana dismissed all five petitions filed by Yeddyurappa’s son-in-law Sohan

Kumar, sons BY Raghavendra, a Lok Sabha member and BY Vijayendra, Dhavalagiri Developers, a firm run by them, and

beneficiary Akka Mahadevi, challenging the lower court order taking cognisance of the complaints. a
