Karnataka High Court judges get death threat, caller demands money in Pak account

Bengaluru, July 24, 2023: The Bengaluru Police has registered a case after a public relations officer (PRO) of the Karnataka High Court said he received messages on WhatsApp threatening to kill six judges.

According to the complaint filed by PRO K Muralidhar, he received a call from an unknown number at 7 pm on July 12. The caller also sent WhatsApp messages on Muralidhar’s official number, mentioning an account number with ’ABL Allied Bank Limited’ in Pakistan and asked him to deposit Rs 50 lakh.

The message threatened that if the money is not transferred, six judges of the court would be killed.

The six judges who have been threatened are Justices Mohammad Nawaz, HT Narendra Prasad, Ashok Nijagannanavar, HP Sandesh, K Natarajan, and Veerappa.

These threatening messages were sent in Hindi, Urdu, and English languages.

The senders also shared some mobile numbers, claiming, "Yah Indian hamare apke shooter hain (these are our Indian shooters)."
