Malappuram, Mar 21, 2022: Over 200 people were injured after the makeshift gallery of a football stadium collapsed near Wandoor in this north Kerala district late Saturday evening, police said.
A video of the incident was shared by news agency ANI. The makeshift gallery was seen falling on the spectators, triggering panic on the ground. The video also shows the organisers and several others rushing to the spot after the incident.

Police said the incident was reported from Poongodu, a football crazy village near Wandoor and Kalikavu, where a sevens football match was being played.
All the injured people were taken to nearby hospitals. None of them are said to be in serious condition, they said.
The incident occurred around 9 pm when the sevens final match between two local teams was being played.
Over 2,000 spectators were reportedly accommodated in the makeshift gallery.
