New Delhi, Nov 5: The Income Tax Department and the Enforcement Directorate has sealed the residence of the former Jarkhand chief minister Madhu Koda in Ranchi. The house which used to be otherwise swarmed by Koda’s confidantes and other supporters, presented a dismal picture on Wednesday with no one present around. Meanwhile, in what can be termed as a stunning development the raiding team has seized two note counting machinery from Koda’s residence, just revealing the extent of disproportionate assets which the former Chief Minister might have amassed thereby forcing him to have a note counting machine as counting the huge amount of currency manually would be a tough task. The raiding team also found that the personal computer of Koda’s chartered accountant was reformatted so that any possible evidence was lost in the process.
On the other hand, documents submitted to the Ranchi High Court with details on Koda’s benami assets, had some prominent names including that of the former railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Congress leader Kripashanker Singh.
