Mysuru, Jannuary 25, 2025: Mysuru Lokayukta Police have reportedly submitted the report to the Special Court in Bengaluru in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) alternative sites allotment case, involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his wife, on Friday.
According to sources, they were supposed to submit the report, a day before the hearing in the Court, which was scheduled on January 27. Since January 25 happened to be the fourth Saturday and holiday to Court, the Lokayukta Police submitted the report on Friday itself.
However, officials of Lokayukta in Mysuru refused to comment on this. They did not give any clue on the content of the report or details about the report.
Lokayukta Police investigated the case based on an FIR filed against Siddaramaiah and others, on September 27, 2024. On September 25, the special court in Bengaluru for cases involving elected representatives directed the jurisdictionall Lokayukta Police in Mysuru, to initiate an investigation against Siddaramaiah and others on the basis of a complaint filed by RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna.
As per the complaint, Devaraju sold the land to B M Mallikarjuna Swamy on August 25, 2004. It was converted from agricultural land to non-agriculture land. On October 6, 2010, Mallikarjuna Swamy gifted the land to his sister, Chief Minister’s wife B M Parvathi. Parvathi submitted representations to MUDA, from 2014, seeking compensation for the said land acquired by MUDA.
On December 12, 2021, the then MUDA Commissioner D B Natesh allotted 14 sites on an alternative developed area on a 50:50 ratio. In the wake of the developments, Parvathi returned all the sites to MUDA on October 3, 2024.
