Lokayukta Special Court admits plea against Eshwarappa

Eshwarappa-LokayuktaBangalore,Dec 15, 2012: The Lokayukta Special Court today admitted a plea by an advocate, charging Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa with amassing property worth crores of Rupees in the name of his family members by abusing his position.

Lokayukta Court Judge N K Sudhindra Rao admitted the plea by advocate B Vinod and asked Lokayukta police to initiate an enquiry into the matter and submit a report by Feb 4 2013.

Vinod contended that Eshwarappa had an ancestral house in Shimoga before 2006 and after assuming office in 2008, had purchased assets worth crores of Rupees, disproportionate to known sources of income in the name of his family members by abusing his position.

Eshwarappa has been named as the first accused and his son and daughter-in-law the second and third accused.
