Bengaluru, Sep 07, 2015: A Bengaluru techie has been arrested for allegedly making hoax calls over the weekend warning of bombs on international flights.
The man, identified as Gokul by the police, reportedly phoned and WhatsApped officials at the Bengaluru and Delhi airports about the "threat". Gokul, according to early police inquiries, used a phone registered in the name of a man whose wife he was allegedly in love with. Gokul, identified only by his first name, has also allegedly confessed to killing his wife in July, according to local media reports.
He then wanted to get his friend in trouble with the police, reportedly so he could attempt to pursue a romance with his wife.
On Saturday, two international flights were called back to Delhi, another was taken to an isolation bay after the false alerts.
