Love for Hrithik Roshan! Chandigarh girl drags Coca Cola to court; know the whole issue

Chandigarh: August 18, 2015: Disappointed over the false promise that she will get a chance to date with Bollywood hero Hrithik Roshan, a girl has dragged soft drink company Coca Cola to the court. Reportedly a Chandigarh court has issued a notice, asking company why it didn’t keep its word. The matter is of the year 2000 when Coca Cola had arranged a promotional contest. The company had announced that whosoever will win the contest, will get a chance to dine out with Hrithik.

A Chandigarh girl named Shikha Monga won the first prize in the contest but company didn’t oblige her by giving change to have romantic date with Bollywood hero. Disappointed Monga then filed a suit in the court where she demanded Rs 2.5 crore in damages. Reportedly, civil judge (senior division), K K Jain of Chandigarh district court has asked Coca Cola to reply by August 18. The court has also announced that applicant need not to pay Rs 2.43 lakh as court fee. "It is duly proved on record that applicant is not possessed of sufficient means to pay the court fee and she is indigent and as a squeal thereto. The application is allowed to pursue with this suit being from a pauper/indigent person", Court in its order said. According to TOI report, Monga was a student of Government College for Girls, Chandigarh awhen she had participated in the contest. She narrates how she spent her pocket money on the contest. Monga further say that she still remembers the day when she won the first prize on May 22, 2000. The Chandigarh woman has accused that when she approached Coca Cola’s marketing office in Chandigarh’s Industrial Area, she was offered Rs 5 lakh instead. Monga says that I made it very clear that I want to date with Hrithik only.

"I made several requests to company to give me chance to meet Hrithik but all my efforts proved futile", woman said.

"Everybody in college, friends and relatives used to ask me about my meeting and dinner with Hrithik. I lost my reputation and was labelled as a liar in the society and have no alternative but to file the suit for damages," Sikha was quoted by the TOI.
