She had also not informed any of her family members about her mother’s death.

The incident came to light when neighbors smelled a strange odour emanating from the house and informed the police. Lucknow Police, who arrived on the scene, recovered the body of Sunita Dixit, who had retired from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

Initially, when police entered the residence, they found that the main door was locked. But they heard a woman’s voice. When they knocked on the door, the 26-year-old daughter of the deceased, Ankita Dixit, did not open the house and started protesting. Seeing no other option, the police called a carpenter and broke open the door and entered the house.

Upon entering the house, Lucknow Police saw that Ankita was in one room and her mother was lying in another room. It was reported that Ankita’s mental condition was not good.

The police were stunned to see the girl inside the room. The girl was not able to talk much, and after a few questions it was found that she was the deceased’s daughter.

The dead body is reportedly about 10-days-old. The police have taken possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. After the post-mortem report is ready, further legal action will be taken on the basis of it.

However, the woman’s cause of death is yet to be ascertained. The deceased retired HAL engineer, Sunita, had divorced her husband, Rajneesh Dixit, 10 years ago. She was also battling cancer and with the help of her 26-year-old daughter.
