Man strangles 17-year-old daughter to death over inter-caste affair in Mysuru

Mysuru, June 08, 2022: In a case of honour killing, a man has been arrested for strangulating his 17-year-old daughter to death at the Kaggundi village in Periyapatna taluk of Karnataka’s Mysuru.
The girl, who was a college student, belonged to the Vokkaliga community.
She was in a relationship with a boy from the Dalit community in a neighbouring village.
Her family was against the alliance and asked her to stop contacting the boy.
When she did not pay heed to her parent’s words, the father strangulated her to death and moved her body out to the field.
The girl’s parents have been arrested by the Mysore Police.
Mysuru SP Chetan said, "Two accused have been arrested. We are waiting for the post-mortem report. The girl was from the Vokkaliga community and the boy is from the Dalit community. "
