Mangalore Today / PTI

Pune, July 13:  Gandhian  Anna Hazare on Tuesday said the Cabinet reshuffle of the government had no meaning. “Just changing the  bullocks won’t do  so long as the same driver remains".

Hazare was speaking to the media here about preparations for the indefinite hunger strike from August 16 in support of the Lokpal Bill.

From the first week of August, volunteers fighting against corruption will organise campaigns, candlelight marches, morning marches to create the atmosphere against corruption among the common public, he said.

Asked about the cabinet reshuffle, Hazare said: "There is a saying in Maharashtra, merely changing bullocks won’;t do, so long as the driver is the same".

Asked about AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh’s recent comment that suspended Congress MP Suresh Kalmadi was innocent, Hazare said, “It simply reveals his friendship with Kalmadi and former chief minister Ashok Chavan. I have already said he should be sent to a mental hospital”

Hazare said that preparations for the fresh agitation to support a strong Lokpal Bill, proposed to begin from August 16, are on in full swing. “This will be like a second independence movement with large number of youth participating in it,” Hazare said.

Hazare said,  the time has come to change the entire leadership of the country instead of replacing a few ministers.

Anna is proceeding to Delhi on Wednesday, where he will hold a string of meetings with members of the civil society and other social activists to chalk out the next course of action. He will soon undertake a nationwide tour to spread awareness and generate support for the bill
