Minor raped by stepfather for over 5 months in Madhya Pradesh, gets pregnant

MadhyaPradesh, Aug 02, 2018 : In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl was raped by her stepfather for over five months in a Madhya Pradesh village. The incident that happened in Dewas district came to light when she was found to be pregnant.

 

According to a police officer, the victim complained of uneasiness and vomiting on Wednesday for which she was taken to a government hospital. It was then that the doctors discovered that she was pregnant.

"The victim said that her stepfather raped her for over five months and threatened to kill her if she disclosed her ordeal," Bishwadeep Singh Parihar, Khategaon Police Station incharge, said.

"She is now three months pregnant," he added.

The victim also told the police that her narrations of the assault to her mother fell on deaf ears.

The accused, Vijay Bairagi, has been arrested under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

The victim is presently being treated at a district hospital in Khategaon. The district administration will decide where she will be kept after she is discharged from the hospital.
