New Delhi, Jan 21, 2023: A Goa-bound chartered flight from the Russian capital Moscow was diverted to Uzbekistan on Saturday. The flight was diverted in the wee hours of Saturday after a bomb threat.
"An Azur Air chartered flight from Russia’s Perm International Airport to Goa received a security threat. Following this, the flight was diverted to Uzbekistan. A total of 238 passengers, including 2 infants, and 7 crew are onboard," airport sources said.

The flight, AZV2463, was diverted before it entered Indian air space, the official said. It was scheduled to land at the Dabolim airport in Goa at 4.15 am.
"It was diverted after an email was received at 12.30 am by the Dabolim airport director that mentioned a bomb being planted on the plane," an official told PTI.
This is the second incident of bomb threat on a Moscow-Goa flight in 11 eleven days. On January 9, a charter flight from Moscow to Goa with 244 passengers and crew made an emergency landing at Jamnagar after the Goa Air Traffic Control received an email claiming a bomb threat onboard the international flight.
After the flight made its landing, a bomb squad and fire brigade teams reached the spot, along with a CISF team, the collector and superintendent of the police.
A bomb squad, as well as fire brigade teams, had rushed to the spot. Apart from this, CISF officials, as well as the collector and superintendent of police, also reached the airport. The passengers were deplaned and the flight was checked.
The National Security Guard did not find anything suspicious on the flight and it took off from Jamnagar airport. The Jamnagar Airport Director said that all bags have been thoroughly checked and that the NSG did not find anything suspicious.
