Mumbai National Eucharist Congress starts

Mumbai, Nov 13, 2015:  National Eucharistic Congress began November 12 , in Mumbai attracting delegates from all across country.

 

The Nov. 12-15 spiritual exercise is organized by Bombay archdiocese. It also commemorates the golden jubilee of the 38th International Eucharistic Congress held in this Archdiocese in 1964. when Pope Paul VI visited.

The programs will be held at the St Pius College, Archdiocesan Seminary Complex, Goregaon.

Delegates will get an opportunity to experience the faith and culture of the local community. Based on the theme ’The Eucharist: Nourished by Christ to Nourish Others." The 4-day program will address the challenge of this message in the Indian context.

The Congress will be graced by the presence of the Papal Legate Cardinal Albert Ranjith of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and four Indian Cardinals — Cardinal Telesphore Toppo, Cardinal Baselios Cleemis, Cardinal George Alencherry and Cardinal Oswald Gracias — and 71 Bishops along with participants from 133 dioceses from across the country.

Pope Francis’ message and blessings are conveyed via a video messages.
