Mysuru gang-rape case: 5 arrested in Tamil Nadu

Mysuru, August 28, 2021: The Mysuru City police have arrested 5 persons in connection with a case related to gang rape of a college girl near Chamundi Hill.

The police have arrested the 5 accused from Tirpur in Tamil Nadu and one more accused in absconding, said police.

According to the police, all the arrested accused persons are coolies, they came from Tirpur to Mysuru to transport bananas to vegetable market.  The heinous crime was committed on the night of Aug. 24 and the incident hit national headlines.

After committing the crime, the accused were hiding in Tamil Nadu and teams of Policemen from Mysuru have brought them back and are likely to produce them in the Court to seek Police custody for interrogation.
