Srinagar, Oct 12, 2021: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday raided 16 locations across Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and other major cities on Tuesday as part of its crackdown against terrorists after the recent civilian killings in Kashmir. In J&K, the investigation agency raided the house of Owais Ahmad Dar, son of Ab Khaliq Dar, a resident of Galbugh Kakapora. The NIA also searched residences in Parimpora, Chattabal, Chanapora, Solina, and Chattabal.
The NIA is targeting multiple locations in central Kashmir to crack down on the Overground Networks (OGN) of terror outfits. The NIA is targeting individuals linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, Al Badr and other terror outfits that have spread in J&k and beyond.
In an official statement, the NIA said that it conducted raids at multiple locations "in connection with J&K terrorism conspiracy case (RC 29/2021/NIA/DLI) pertaining to conspiracy for conducting violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities by the cadres of proscribed terrorist organization Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), and their affiliates Al Badr, The Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF), Mujahideen Gazwatul Hind (MGH) etc."
On Monday, one terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces. The dead terrorist was identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, affiliated with the proscribed terror outfit, The Resistance Front, a front for the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Dar was involved in the recent civilian killing at Shahgund in Bandipora. The same day, five Indian Army soldiers were killed in an encounter during an anti-insurgency operation in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
