The performance, which lasted for about 10 minutes, commenced with ’Kombum Kudavayarum’, a piece dedicated to Lord Ganesha, and transitioned into a Ramayana song.
The event was organised to honour Prime Minister Modi, who is scheduled to attend a general meeting of the Mahila Morcha in Thrissur on Wednesday.
In addition to the Thiruvathira, the district is hosting a series of cultural events, including a ’Kottu Melam’ performance featuring 101 artists, in celebration of the Prime Minister’s visit.
Lakhs of women are expected to participate in the Prime Minister’s event in the afternoon tomorrow, officials said. Prominent women in social, cultural and sports fields will share the stage with PM Modi.
The BJP has its sights set on the Thrissur Parliamentary seat as a key target in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
