New Delhi, September 1: Addressing a press conference, Home Minister P Chidambaram today said he stands by his earlier comment on the new phenomenon of saffon terror and that there is no patent on the word ’saffron’.
"The message (behind saffron terror remark) is right wing fundamentalist groups are suspected to be behind some bomb blasts and that message should not be lost in the furore over the phrase," he said.
Speaking on CWG security, Chidambaram said security overlays for the Commonwealth Games will be completed by September 15.
The Home Minister held a high-level meeting on Wednesday to take stock of security for the fortnight-long Commonwealth Games beginning October 3. A four-tier security apparatus with Army back-up will be put in place during the Games. Over 10,000 athletes from 71 countries and 500,000 spectators are expected at the Games.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to restart the dialogue process in Kashmir, Chidambaram said "the government will talk to any group or any political party who is willing to talk."

If at all there were some bomb blasts from patriotic Hindus, it is only a small reaction to the large scale terrorism unleashed by the the anti-national Muslims in India. How can he accuse Hindus when he has miserably failed as a Home Minister. Chidambaram and some other Congress leaders are making a big issue of it, only with a eye on Muslim votes. We can not expect such selfish politicians to protect citizens from Jihadis and Naxals. It is a shame that a coward like Chidambaram is occupying a seat once held by the Iron Man of India Sardar Patel. |
