New Delhi, Feb 10, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new campus of the Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah (The Saifee Academy) in Mumbai’s Marol on Friday. Addressing the community members, Narendra Modi said that he is not there as the prime minister but as part of their family.
“When I saw your videos, your films, I have just one complaint. You called me “respected PM” in them. I am part of your family. I am not here as a PM or CM. I am fortunate that I have been connected to this family for four generations. All four generations have visited my home,” PM Modi said.

“I am part of your family and every time I have had the opportunity to come here as a family member, I have been happy,” PM Modi said as applause rang around.
PM Modi inaugurated the new academy of Dawoodi Bohra community and took a tour of the academy. The Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah is the principal educational institute of the Dawoodi Bohra community. The Saifee Academy is working to protect the learning traditions and literacy culture of the community.
PM Modi shares a warm relationship with the community and has met with its religious leaders multiple times, both in India and abroad. The Dawoodi Bohra community is a subgroup within the Shia Islamic sect that is known for its business acumen.
“Whenever I go anywhere in the country, or even abroad, my Bohra brothers and sisters definitely come to meet me,” PM Modi said, adding, “Whichever corner of the world they are in, their love and worry for India is always seen.”
The prime minister during his Maharashtra visit also flagged off two Vande Bharat trains in Mumbai earlier today. This is his second visit to the state in less than a month.
