NEW DELHI, March 05: An open critic of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, party stalwart L K Advani is reportedly upset over the party’s dependence on the Gujarat chief minister for its campaign for the 2014 Lok Sabha election.
Advani is miffed at the fact that the party’s election campaign has been Modi-centric and the Gujarat chief minister himself has been tom-toming on his achievements and promises.
An Economic Times report says that the Advani created a flutter at a party meeting when he said that he agreed with Rahul Gandhi when he said that the BJP was becoming a one-man show.
The veteran leader has been reportedly bringing this issue up at various party meetings.
Feeling left out of the campaign trail, Advani feels that other senior leaders should also be a part of the party campaign.
An upset Advani is learnt to have told party members that campaigning is a joint process where all senior party leaders should take part but this time it is only Modi who is visible, reports The Economic Times.
It is said that BJP leaders are not taking Advani’s complaint too seriously as every state unit is sending invites for Modi rallies.
