Olympics: Indian rowers in sem-final

London, July 31, 2012: Indian rower Swaran Singh qualified for the semi-final of the men’s singles scull while his compatriots Manjeet Singh and Sandeep Kumar booked their place in the semi-final of the lightweight doubles scull in the 2012 London Olympics at the Eaton Dorney here Tuesday.

He was second after the 500metre mark but slowly ran out of steam to finish fourth at the 2000m.

Sandeep and Manjeet qualified for the semi-final D through the repechage where they finished sixth with a timing of 6:54.20.
