The PM made the remark while inaugurating the golden jubilee celebration of Symbiosis University in Pune. “We are evacuating thousands of Indians safely from war zone through Operation Ganga,” Modi was quoted as saying.
“It is due to India’s growing influence that it has brought thousands of students from the war zone of Ukraine back to their motherland,” he said.
Several big countries are facing hard ships in evacuating their citizens, he added.
On Saturday, the government in a statement said the Indian government’s Operation Ganga flew 13,700 citizens stranded in war-hit Ukraine back home safely. The special flights started last week.
