New Delhi, June 20, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to meet several thought leaders in New York as part of his ongoing trip to the United States.
The list of people he would likely meet has over two dozen distinguished names, including Nobel laureates, economists, artists, scientists, scholars, entrepreneurs, academicians, and health sector experts.
Among the notable figures present were Elon Musk, renowned entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and Neil deGrasse Tyson, an astrophysicist and science communicator known for his popularization of science.
Other attendees included Paul Romer, an economist and Nobel laureate; Nicholas Nassim Taleb, a scholar and author known for his work on risk and probability; Ray Dalio, a billionaire investor and philanthropist; Falu Shah, an acclaimed singer and musician; Michael Froman, a former United States Trade Representative and Daniel Russel, a diplomat and former Assistant Secretary of State.
The Prime Minister will also meet Jeff Smith, a political scientist and author; Elbridge Colby, a strategic and defense policy expert; Dr. Peter Agre, a Nobel laureate in Chemistry; Dr. Stephen Klasko, a renowned healthcare executive; and Chandrika Tandon, a Grammy-nominated musician.
The meeting is aimed at fostering better synergy, understanding the developments in the United States, and inviting collaboration with India.
PM Modi left for the US on Tuesday for a landmark state visit. He is slated to hold discussions with President Joe Biden on bettering trade and investment relations, besides forging closer ties in the technology domain comprising telecom, space and manufacturing during his much anticipated visit.
