New Delhi, June 25, 2022: IAS officer Parameswaran Iyer was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog on Friday.
The Department of Personnel and Training announced his appointment. He will hold the office for a period of two years.
Iyer’s term will begin upon the completion of current CEO Amitabh Kant’s tenure on June 30, 2022. The personnel ministry order said Iyer’s appointment had been made on the same terms and conditions as were applicable for Kant.
Iyer, a 1981-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre and a well-known sanitation specialist. He had resigned from the post of Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary in July last year.
Iyer had taken voluntary retirement from the Indian Administrative Service in 2009. He had also worked as a senior rural water sanitation specialist at the United Nations.
