Pet pitbull bites off 11-year-old boy’s face in Ghaziabad, child gets 150 stitches

Ghaziabad, Sep 08, 2022: Terror tales of pet dogs have been refusing to take a back seat. In the latest incident, an 11-year-old boy was attacked by a dog. The breed of the dog was a pitbull and the incident occurred on September 3.

Sources said that the boy who suffered severe injuries from the dog’s bite sustained more than 150 stitches on his face. The boy is a resident of Ghaziabad and the jurisdiction came under the Madhuban Bapudham Police Station.

CCTV footage related to the incident came to the fore. The incident occurred when the child was playing in the park outside the house. A girl, at the park, was walking a pitbull dog when suddenly she left the pet animal and it rushed to attack the child’s face and ear. People rescued the child from the dog’s clutches but it had bitten his face by the time they managed to get rid of the dog.

Following the incident, the residents of the housing society and the locality raised strong objections to pet animals preying on children. Also, it was brought to the fore that the owner of the pitbull dog, Subhash Tyagi, a resident of Ghaziabad, kept the dog with no license or registration. Subsequently, the civic body imposed a fine of Rs 5,000.
