He was arrested by a five-member women’s squad and transported from the Bengaluru International Airport to the SIT headquarters under the custody of women officers, ranging from the level superintendent of police to a constable.
An all-women police team of officers will also question Prajwal, confirmed another source in the SIT. The SIT currently has a total of 20 women police officers of various ranks who are part of the investigation.
The SIT, set up by the Karnataka government on April 28, was established soon after the first FIR was filed in Holenarsipura by a former house help who accused the MP of molestation.
Earlier in the day, Prajwal Revanna’s Advocate Arun said there should not be a media trial against him in the case as the investigation is underway.
“He has come forward to cooperate in the investigation. His request to the media is that there should be no media trial. He has been arrested in the Holenarasipura case,” he said.
Prajwal, the grandson of former prime minister HD Deve Gowda and the son of former Karnataka minister HD Revanna, had flown to Germany a day after the Lok Sabha seat he is seeking re-election from, Hassan, went to polls on April 26.
