Bangalore, Feb 27, 2018 (BM): Prakash Raj, who has been getting trolled on social media ever since Mohammed Haris attack took place, broke his silence on the issue finally. The multi-lingual actor said on Monday, “Now I feel awkward and embarrassed for having praised Mohammed Haris Nalapad two months ago at a function. I didn’t know about his ’devil face’ before."

Prakash RajHe was speaking at a media interaction programme at Mysuru District Journalist Association (MDJA) event in the city. While replying to questions asked by journalists, the actor said, "I have praised about the upbringing of Mohammed Harris Nalpad at a function around two months ago. Frankly, I did not know about his ’devil face’ then. I have learnt a lesson that one has to be more careful before praising someone without knowing their background."

The actor added, "I have adopted villages and asked Nalapad to help me in the development of those villages. He had donated Rs 2 lakh. After I got to know about his assault on an innocent boy, I returned his money.” Prakash Raj, during a recent programme in Bengaluru, praised Mohammed saying that he was a "model son and every father should have a son like him".

Under fire, Prakash Raj had to tweet, saying, “I strongly condemn this act and strong action should be taken against such acts. Our society cannot tolerate such arrogance whoever he is."

The victim, Vidvat, is still undergoing treatment at Mallya Hospital, where his condition is said to be out of danger.
