New Delhi, Dec 12, 2016 : Reacting to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s accusation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh are dividing the nation on the basis of religion, the BJP said that the Gandhi scion is suffering from "attention-seeking disorder".
The attack came hours after Rahul Gandhi, in his tweet, said that he agreed that Pakistan was trying to divide India religiously, but the Home Minister and his boss PM Modi have also been doing the same.
The BJP took exception to Rahul’s remarks and said he is suffering from "attention seeking disorder". "Rahul is suffering from attention seeking disorder. It is a shameful statement. He does it for a good TRP," said BJP secretary Srikant Sharma as he demanded the Congress vice-president’s apology.
"No other party than Congress knows it better how to divide the country on religious lines. The 1984 anti-Sikh riots are the biggest example ... then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said minorities have the first right on resources. We say it is the poor who have the first right. This is the difference," added Sharma.
Rajnath Singh had lashed out at Pakistan on Sunday for exporting terror into India. Singh’s vehement criticism came while addressing people on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas in Jammu’s Kathua district on Sunday.
Rajnath said that Pakistan was conspiring to divide India on religious lines. "Pakistan has failed in four wars to divide India and now it was trying to divide India by using the religion card. Muslims are part of India as much as the followers of any other religion living here," he said.
Rajnath also took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi over his earthquake remark on demonetisation. "The Congress vice president cannot even make the wind blow and he talks about causing an earthquake in parliament," said the Home Minister.
