Bengaluru, December 13, 2024: Kannada actor Darshan has finally been granted bail in connection to the Renukaswamy murder case. On Friday, the Karnataka High Court granted bail to the Kannada star and his partner Pavithra Gowda, who are the prime accused in the case. More details are awaited.

Darshan was arrested by the Bengaluru police from Mysuru on June 11, 2024. Police officials were investigating his involvement in the Renuka Swamy murder case and had also already seized his cell phones. His bail plea was also rejected multiple times previously.

Renukaswamy was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. He hailed from a middle-class background with his father Kashinatha Shivanagoudara being a retired government employee. Reportedly, Renukaswamy used to work at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga.

Previously, Darshan claimed that Renukaswamy was vulgar and a “menace to orderly society." During one of his bail plea hearings in the Karnataka High Court, Darshan and his legal team made shocking allegations against Renukaswamy and claimed that he used to send nude photos to women.

Before this, police officials also claimed that Renuka used to send vulgar messages to Kannada actress Pavithra Gowad, a friend of Darshan. Angry about this, Renuka Swamy was murdered and his dead body was allegedly thrown in a canal at Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru in front of Darshan.

However, Renukaswamy’s wife denied claims that her late husband used to send derogatory messages to anyone. “My husband called me on June 8 afternoon. If my husband had sent derogatory messages on social media, he should have been given a warning. What was the need to kill him," she said and then added, “Whether he is an actor (Darshan) or a star, I want justice."
