“A digital surveillance system was installed at the ATM center without any security personnel. We received information 45 minutes after the crime. The bank management did not provide CCTV camera footage. There are no CCTV cameras around the crime scene and this has hampered the initial investigation,” Kalaburagi City Police Commissioner Sharanappa S D said.

Stating that the money was deposited in the ATM on Tuesday evening, he said that a thorough probe is being undertaken into the case.

Senior police officials, however, claimed that the fingerprints and scientific evidence of the accused have been found at the ATM. Three special investigation teams have been formed to nab the accused, they said.
